Commercial real estate firm Colliers brokered the sale of a former Motel 6 in Los Alamos. The property will be converted into an apartment complex.

Planned to have 70 fully furnished studio and one-bedroom apartments for extended-stay workforce housing, the property at 2175 Trinity Drive was purchased in August by Trinity Ridge Co-living and Private Apartments LLC.

The units will be marketed primarily to professionals seeking move-in-ready housing for long-term stays, according to Colliers’ Vice President of Northern New Mexico Jyl DeHaven, who represented the buyer in the transaction. Rental prices were not disclosed.

The 272-acre Avila Industrial Park in Santa Teresa is headed toward a major industrial development, Colliers officials told Albuquerque Business First.

Colliers Senior Vice President and Principal Bob Feinberg and Senior Vice President and Principal Tom Jones are brokering the deal for Colliers.

“We just feel that Santa Teresa is primed and ready for growth and expansion of the industrial base,” Jones said in an interview on Aug. 27.

Pacific Fusion has filed a $20 million permit application for work at its Project Solis campus in Mesa del Sol, advancing construction on the planned research and manufacturing facility.

The commercial permit application, submitted to the City of Albuquerque on Aug. 21, represents the next phase of construction for the planned facility. However, no timeline has been announced for when the facility is expected to be completed.
