Can we PLEASE be respectful and kind to each other as brokers? As many of us are competing in this low inventory market it's so important that we communicate when we write offers on the same property. As listing brokers, please let the brokers that did NOT get accepted know in a timely manner (via all communication methods). Give them ample time to notify their buyers before putting the property into pending. Nothing makes us look worse to our buyers who have taken the time to write an offer to find out that the home went into "pending status" before we even know šŸ˜¢ and are able to notify them.

This practice is affecting buyers opinion of REALTORs overall and that's not good for our business and our professionalism. Remember that you too will be in the same situation at some point. When I get multiple offers I let the non accepted brokers know and give them a proper notice to contact their buyers before I put it into pending (I contact them with the exact time I am changing the status to pending so they know in advance they need to contact their buyers). I am not perfect by any means but this saves lots of hard feelings.

Be kind to each other, buyers come and go but playing nice in the GAAR sandbox will help us ALL in the long run. We all have the same goals so let's not forget that. I respectfully ask that we be kind to each other regardless of the current market.
