Tunnel to Towers is honored to announce a mortgage payoff for Navy Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Christopher J. Chambers. Chambers was reported missing at sea on January 11, while conducting a raid in the Gulf of Aden.

Chambers jumped into the water to save his fellow Navy SEAL, Special Warfare Operator 2nd Class Nathan Gage Ingram, after Ingram had fallen off a ladder into 8-foot-high waves while boarding the ship.

Navy Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Christopher J. Chambers is survived by his wife and young daughter.

Alexandria's Market Square was established only a few years after the town was founded in 1749. The site selected was centrally located in a prime block of the colonial settlement, immediately adjacent to the City Hall. At the time, Cameron and North Fairfax Streets were the main avenues in Alexandria, and that intersection was considered one of the most important in Northern Virginia.
