The first significant snowstorm of the year appears to be just a few days away. According to the US National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington there is a high level of confidence for winter weather from late Saturday afternoon into Sunday evening. A Winter Storm Watch is also in effect for that time.

Projected snow totals may change as the storm approaches, but 8 inches or more are possible, to be followed by a long stretch of extreme cold.
