Win, lose or draw, I have a world class support system. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible and for all of the support. First and foremost I want to thank Nawal Africano for the constant support and encouragement, Tyler Hart | Compass DMV Realtor for being the best partner to ever do the damn thang, and a big shoutout to Tom Hall for the in race coaching and motivation, felt great to have you in my corner like old days!

Just a few shots from today and yesterday surrounding the event. The JR hat was custom made to represent Josie and Reece so could have them with me on race day, made by my amazing wife.

Sunday Spotlight: Gustave Boulangerie et brasserie Jardin

If you have not been to Gustave in Del Ray yet, this is your sign and tomorrow is the day.

We have made this place a regular Sunday morning tradition and it is not hard to see why. The coffee is excellent, the pastries are the kind you think about on the drive home, and the outdoor area makes it easy to lose track of time in the best possible way. We consistently show up thinking we will stay for thirty minutes and leave two hours later with no regrets.

The Nutella beignets paired with an iced latte. That is all I need to say.

Del Ray continues to be one of best neighborhoods in Alexandria and Gustave is a big reason why. Go tomorrow. You can thank us later.

Before you sign anything, know what you are agreeing to.

The Buyer Broker Agreement is not a life sentence and it is not something to be intimidated by. But it is a real contract with real terms and you deserve to understand every line of it before your pen hits the paper.

Ask about the length. Ask about the compensation. Ask what happens if things are not working out. A good agent will welcome every single one of those questions.

The goal is for you to feel confident when you sign, not just compliant. If you have questions about the BBA or want someone to walk you through it before you commit to anything, that conversation is always free.

Had the distinct pleasure of coaching some high-level athletes at the St. James Wrestling Academy! I was able to share my favorite style, Greco-Roman wrestling, with a group of dedicated athletes who are headed to Las Vegas for the U.S. Open. It’s been almost three years since I’ve coached a full practice, and I had an absolute blast doing so. A huge thank you to and the entire St. James wrestling team for giving me the opportunity to come in and do something I truly love.

January 3rd marks our one-year home anniversary.

How we came about our home: it was an off-market deal where the owner was having a hard time getting it ready for market, and we offered to take it “as-is.” There were A LOT of issues with the home, some of which still pop up from time to time.

To name a few: a completely rotted bathroom, pest infestation, 14 years of dust accumulation in the ducts, mold, a completely abandoned yard, roof leaks, and a lot more. This home has truly been a labor of love.

We’ve had a lot of help from parents, friends, trusted partners, and more. We’ve come a long way from its original condition and still have more to go, but we’re incredibly grateful for the home we live in.

If you’re curious about costs, issues we’ve run into, or how to handle a project like this for yourself, we’d be more than happy to answer those questions. The pictures don’t paint the full picture of everything we’ve done, but they should give you an idea.

2025 was truly a year for the books. It was filled with incredible memories , new relationships, and lessons I’ll carry with me for a long time. Some of my favorite moments were welcoming our daughter Josie, celebrating Reece’s 2nd birthday, and meeting my nephew Beckham. I couldn’t have done any of it without my best friend and wife cheers to 2026!

Happy 29th *cough cough* birthday to my best friend, the best mama and dog mama, the caringest, smartest, sometimes funniest, amazing woman I know. Thank you for the amazing years together, thank you for the cutest baby ever, and thank you for being you. I love you to the moon and back. Happy birthday!
