DISCIPLINE. DETERMINATION. TENACITY.
Simple. Safe. Fundamental. Wholesome.
There is something extraordinary about watching the United States Naval Academy play football, especially in this era of NIL and big-money college athletics.
The discipline is palpable. The determination is unmistakable.
Watching Navy precisely execute play after play, manage the clock, use every player, and simply outthink and outwork an opponent is invigorating.
Four turnovers. Down by 12. No panic. No excuses. Just grit, work ethic, discipline, and some plain old smarts.
And despite approximately 17,000 media timeouts interrupting the momentum (good grief!), the Midshipmen kept doing what they do. They went to work. Together. As a team.
For Dave’s 60th birthday, Jim and Harper gave him Navy season tickets, complete with tailgating. What a gift!
But one of my favorite parts of these weekends isn’t just the football. It’s introducing others to the simple, fun and wholesome feel and joy of the entire experience.
Good people. Great traditions. A beautiful setting. Football played with purpose.
And young men who remind us what teamwork, preparation, and commitment can accomplish.

⚓ Navy 34. Tulsa 26.
In a world increasingly focused on individual rewards, there is something refreshing about watching a team win through collective purpose and dogged determination. I optimistic about our country’s future.
