So proud of my Sonshine, who endured the crazy elements on his first overnight camping trip. Rain couldn’t stop us, the cold couldn’t hold us back, and the did what Scouts do: be brave, resilient and strong! Me, on the other hand, not so much 😳. Sleeping on the damp ground in 40 degree weather is a young man’s game. There is no part of my anatomy that doesn’t hurt. But that’s what Scout Mom’s do - we soldier through with them 💪🏾😎

Reflecting back over my natural hair journey over the last few years – it’s been a lot. I did the ‘big chop’ on June 27, 2019. It took a long time, and despite all the time spent detangling; praying; lamenting the fact that our hair can be so hard to manage; and trying to coax it to do what I want, I have finally learned to appreciate my hair in all its splendor. Now I believe that God blessed us with these glorious crowns because He knew we were worthy of the challenge.
