There's been a lot of discussion about prejudice in the field of real estate appraisal recently. I'd just like to take this time to say that the Universal Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) states within its Ethics Rule the following point:

"An appraiser must not use or rely upon unsupported conclusions relating to characteristics such as race, color, religion, national origin, gender, marital status, familial status, age, receipt of public assistance income, handicap, or unsupported conclusions that homogeneity of such characteristics is necessary to maximize value."

I would like everyone to know that I perform all of my appraisals in accordance with USPAP and without bias.
