A near-drowning incident that occurred at the pool at 800 Carlyle, involving two toddlers who were repeatedly unsupervised and at risk, despite multiple warnings issued by the on-duty lifeguard.

A woman caring for two toddlers and holding an infant was repeatedly warned by the lifeguard on duty that her children were unsupervised and at risk of drowning. The caregiver remained distracted, primarily on her phone and physically unable to respond due to holding an infant. Ultimately, one of the toddlers fell into the pool, and the lifeguard was forced to physically intervene and recover the child from the water.

This was a terrifying and completely avoidable situation, and it is only due to the alertness and professionalism of the lifeguard that a tragedy was averted.

I understand that 800 Carlyle management was informed about the incident, but I am deeply concerned that the matter is not being treated with the seriousness it demands.

800 John Carlyle's rental management continues to deny responsibility for ongoing criminal activity, falsely claiming there are no Airbnbs—despite police records proving otherwise. Most recently, an Airbnb guest was robbed at gunpoint while attempting to attend a party.

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating the armed robbery of a diamond necklace and cash from a person on their way to a party in the city's Carlyle neighborhood. Subject: Ongoing Fire Alarm Issues and Associated Fees

800 Carlyle has repeatedly refused to repair or upgrade the building’s fire alarm system, which continues to trigger randomly. We spoke with the fire department, and they confirmed that they have notified 800 Carlyle that the system needs to be upgraded.

As a result of these false alarms, 800 Carlyle is being fined $75 each time the alarm goes off. We would like clarification on who is responsible for covering these repeated charges.

Multiple residents informed 800 Carlyle staff about the armed robbery via email. Despite this, Mr. Edward Hyland, part of the leadership team at 800 Carlyle, stated that he "couldn’t find it online" and that "it wasn’t reported by a resident." Although Mr. Hyland has received the email, he has not taken any action, citing the fact that the victim has not officially reported the incident to 800 Carlyle management.
