Building a stronger community means investing in the next generation.

Over the past three months, Thomas James Homes partnered with Palisades Charter High School's Makerspace program for the TJH Blueprint Challenge, a hands-on learning experience designed to introduce students to the real-world journey from concept to construction.

Eighteen students across four teams worked alongside industry professionals to explore planning, design, and building principles while developing skills in collaboration, creativity, leadership, and problem-solving.

To support the program, TJH donated materials, resources, and expertise from our design and permitting teams, ensuring students could participate at no cost to the school. Each student was also awarded a Certificate of Completion signed by our CEO and Makerspace teacher, Matt Golad, in recognition of their hard work and achievement.

We're proud to support educational opportunities that inspire future innovators, designers, and builders while continuing to invest in the Palisades community.

We were proud to sponsor the Menlo Park-Atherton Education Foundation Schoolhouse Rocks Run on May 17, joining more than 1,500 community members who came together to run and walk in support of the Menlo Park City School District.

We welcomed Palisades Charter High School students to our Showcase Home at 915 Kagawa Street to kick off the TJH Blueprint Challenge.

An opportunity for students at Pali High, led by Makerspace Teacher Matt Golad, to step inside the homebuilding process. Learning what it takes to bring a home from idea to reality.

As part of the challenge, we’re sponsoring the materials and giving students the opportunity to apply their skills using our anticipated single-story floor plans. Over the next seven weeks, students will design and build a scale model of a TJH home, bringing their ideas to life through hands-on experience.
