I wrote this article long ago and, for some reason, never posted it. If you have no interest in real estate as a career, you'll find it lengthy and a little dry. But with seniors getting ready to graduate from college and possibly considering real estate as a career, it's a good read for them. I spent my first 14 years strictly in commercial real estate, and my last 27 years strictly in residential, so I know how they differ. Although I'm completely happy with my career, in hindsight, knowing what I know now, I might have done things a little differently if I hadn't been so stubborn. I'll share that too.

How could I have forgotten this Lucas, Tx estate home when I was compiling my list? We sold this property twice. The first time was to the owners who purchased it many years ago, and then represented them when it was sold to the current owners on the right. This property backs up to the Army Corps of Engineers' thousands of acres around Lake Lavon and the 29-mile Trinity Equestrian and walking trail.

First, let me point out that this home is not for sale. The owner is building the home himself on Blondy Jhune Rd in Lucas, TX. We live right around the corner from it, so I see it all the time on my drive into Allen. I've been watching it go up since the groundbreaking. It has always captured my curiosity, so I stopped in to talk to the owner to ask him about it. He was nice enough to walk through it with me.

The home rests on a 7-plus-acre lot with a creek running behind it. What has intrigued me is that, along with the buildings already on the premises, it almost stretches completely across the lot. He's still several months out from completion, but you can now see the size of some of these rooms and the indoor pool. Hopefully, I'll be able to do a final walk-through when it's completed.

I've compiled an aerial tour of what I consider to be Lucas, Texas's estate homes. But technically, what is an estate home? There are so many beautiful custom homes in both Fairview and Lucas, on 1 to 2 acres. Would you call them all "estate homes"? How does one make the determination of what an estate home is in this area? I asked Google Gemini to tell me, and it defined an estate home as having these features ... 1) Significant Acreage 2) Massive Square Footage 3) Premium Amenities and Outbuildings and 4) Privacy and security Do all the properties you'll be seeing here have all those features? The answer is no, some do, but most don't, but I still consider them estate homes, and since this is my video, I get to make that call :-) Anyway, I'll be showing you the Fairview and Parker estate properties from the air in the coming weeks. Here's a big thank you to my lovely wife, Rhonda. She's doing such a wonderful job leading our staging team. Our clients love her and her entire team. Unless you've worked with The Grisak Group, you can't imagine how much time and effort we put into our staging. First, we meet with the sellers in a pre-staging appointment to determine what the home will require and to provide recommendations. Then, when they've completed the preliminary work, our team comes back out and does their thing. We've spent many hours at some of these big homes, but it always pays off, and our clients always appreciate it.
