Most sellers feel prepared for pricing, photos, and showings ,but there are a few realities that often come as a surprise once a home hits the market.
1. You’ll see your home through buyers’ eyes
Feedback can feel personal, even when it isn’t. Buyers comment on things sellers stopped noticing years ago , layout, light, noise, or flow. It’s part of the process, but it takes a mindset shift.
2. Showing-ready is a daily commitment
Living in a listed home means keeping it clean, flexible, and ready on short notice. That ongoing effort is often harder than the initial prep.
3. The emotional ups and downs are real
Excitement, doubt, hope, frustration , sometimes all in the same week. Even strong listings experience pauses or negotiations that test patience.
None of this means something is wrong. It means selling is both a financial and emotional process , and having guidance makes it steadier and less overwhelming.
