Fresh paint and clean lines can make a new Atlanta home feel finished: but before you sign off, take a careful look at the details that affect comfort, drainage, and your builder warranty.
During a punch-list walk-through, document:
• HVAC balance: Are rooms heating and cooling evenly? Are registers, returns, and accessible equipment operating as expected?
• Plumbing basics: Check accessible fixtures, drainage, water pressure, leaks, and proper operation.
• Exterior grading: Does soil slope away from the foundation, or could water collect beside the home?
• Flashing and trim: Look closely at roof-to-wall transitions, penetrations, windows, doors, and exterior joints for gaps or incomplete work.
A standard inspection documents readily accessible and visible conditions and flags items for qualified specialists when needed. It’s much easier to address concerns before the builder warranty clock starts than after move-in.
