Congratulations to my buyers who closed on this property a couple of weeks ago! They are a husband/wife duo who are strategically building their real estate portfolio. This Marietta property checked a lot of boxes - price, solid structure, and exceptional neighborhood.

According to a 2025 breakdown of US real estate investors, about 8.6% of investors are African American. Let that sink in - that’s a very small percentage. I love to see the representation as it is becoming increasingly important for us to leverage other means of income & wealth building. Even in a flat market, buying under firm rules that manage risks is still encouraged. It was so rewarding to be a part of their journey. There’s a lot going on right now—politically, economically, emotionally—and if I’m being honest, it’s heavy. Draining. A lot of fear, frustration, and uncertainty about where we’re headed as a country. It’s hard not to feel it.

But over the years I’ve learned a key life lesson. In the middle of all the chaos, I’ve learned to focus on what I can control. We find our light—and we become it. For me that light is real estate. It gives me something solid to build on—something I can grow, share, and pass on. It helps me create income, plan for the future, and be an example for my sons. It’s also my way of giving back—by sharing what I know, helping others learn, and supporting causes that actually make a difference in our communities.

The world might be a mess sometimes, but we still get to choose how we show up. This is how I choose to show up—with purpose.

Yes it can be but of course you want to do so with strategy and caution. Reasons like tax advantages, appreciation, and the fact that rents are holding strong in most areas are just a few reasons why real estate continues to make sense. You have to buy smart. In looking at your investment goals, if passive income, long term wealth building, and creating housing opportunities align with your desires & capacity , Buy & Hold could certainly be a rewarding investment strategy for you.
