According to a new report from the Georgia Multiple Listing Service, Atlanta metro home prices have surged 59% since February 2020 - just prior to the pandemic.

In other words, when rates drop, home prices will rise even further.

Remember, when buying a house, most people are getting a house and a mortgage. The price you pay for the house is fixed so you want to get that now before prices appreciate any more. The price of the mortgage is not fixed. If rates make that drop you’re waiting for, you can take advantage by refinancing, knowing you’ve already secured the house you want at the price you want.
