It’s good to see the balance coming and negotiations. What do you think? Ready to sell? Ready to buy?

Last year’s rapid rise in mortgage rates has continued to add balance to the housing market in Utah. Buyers are seeing greater negotiating power, increased selection and more time to make decisions. However, competition remains for homes that are priced right, especially for starter homes where there is a shortage of homes.

“Home sales activity looks to be bottoming out in the first quarter of this year, before incremental improvements will occur,” said National Association of REALTORS® Chief Economist Lawrence Yun in a press release today
about national pending sales. “But an annual gain in home sales will not occur until 2024. Meanwhile, home prices will be steady in most parts of the country with a minor change in the national median home price.”
