Let’s put some numbers to it.

For a $350,000 home purchase, assuming you finance the full amount with a 30-year fixed mortgage:

➡️ At 7%: approximately $2,329/month
➡️ At 8%: approximately $2,568/month

That’s a difference of about $240 a month—or roughly $8 a day. These payments cover principal and interest only; taxes and insurance are additional.

Now think about what goes out each month on Amazon orders, DoorDash, Instacart fees, or that daily coffee. Those purchases can quietly add up to hundreds of dollars.

There’s nothing wrong with enjoying conveniences. But if owning a home is your goal, ask yourself: Could some of that spending help make room for the home I want?
