That 80's Trend 🤣

Forget those shoulder pads & big hair... LET'S TALK ABOUT THOSE RATES! 👀💥
Picture it... it's 1981 & rates are 16.5%. TOTALLY NOT AWESOME! 😂
Let's put today's rates into perspective....
📈1980: Mortgage rates
averaged around 15%
📈1981: Mortgage rates climbed to 16-18%
And when I started my mortgage company in 2000, we were looking at mortgage rates up to around 7.5%.
📉🏡Fast forward to today... The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage is averaging way less than half of the 80's rates.
So before we say, "Ugh... these rates are SO high!" - let's take a little trip down memory lane.
Compared to the 80's, we're still in a pretty good place! And that's why I believe it's important to look beyond the rate on the screen.
Today, it's about HOW you structure the loan.
Because the mortgage business has changed a LOT since the days of big hair and answering the phone on a landline...☎️😂
The rates may change. The market may change. The technology definitely changes
But one thing doesn't go out of style:
