🚨 UTILITY BILLING CHANGE – ACTION REQUIRED FOR CUSTOMERS 🚨
City Council was recently given an overview of the upcoming utility billing system change, and I want to make sure everyone is aware of this VERY IMPORTANT information.
The City of Amarillo will launch a new utility billing system on March 31, 2026, and this will impact every customer account.
⚠️ Your account number will change
⚠️ Your online login will not carry over
⚠️ AutoPay and scheduled payments will be CANCELLED
If no action is taken, payments will not process automatically.
✅ WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
• Watch for your new bill in April (all customers will receive a paper bill)
• Find your NEW account number on that bill
• Go to: www.amarillo.gov/utility-billing/utility-billing-system/
• Create your new online account
• Make your first payment manually
• Re-enroll in AutoPay for future payments (if desired)
📅 KEY DATES:
• March 26–30: Payments cannot be processed (online, phone, or in person)
• March 31: New system goes live
• April: First bill mailed with new account number
• No late fees through May (except accounts already 60+ days past due)
