Did you know that the Murphy bed or folding bed was invented in 1900? In a studio apartment where bedroom and parlor were combined, it was socially proper to keep the bed out of sight. Ada Hayden, a longtime resident of Cranford Apartments, check out her story!

Ada Hayden (Iowa State alum and professor, botanist, advocate for prairie preservation) was conferred her PhD from Iowa State on May 29, 1918.
