I know this is a long one, but I promise it’s worth the read 🙏🏾❤️

🏡🔑 Your favorite local Realtor is officially a homeowner!!!

This one means a little more to me.

I’ve been a Realtor for going on four years now. I’ve helped so many people buy homes, invest in properties, negotiate deals, and take that leap into homeownership… all while never actually owning a home myself.

And if I’m being real, that always felt a little weird lmao. I was selling and preaching something that I hadn’t done for myself yet.

I kept telling myself I was waiting for the perfect time. The perfect amount of money in my account. The perfect house to come along. And honestly, I never really wanted to buy a house just to live there by myself. A house didn’t feel like something I needed just to say I owned one.

Then Lindsay and I started talking more seriously about buying.

She’s moved around a lot throughout her life and wanted somewhere that could finally feel like her home. She was renting a nice apartment with a roommate, but when we actually sat down and looked at how much money was going toward rent every month and what that added up to… it was definitely an eye-opener.

Even then, we weren’t 100% ready to jump.

Until I went on a listing appointment one day and the sellers told me:

“If you know any young couples who would be interested in this home, we’d love to sell it to them.”

Yeah… I basically called Lindsay as soon as I got in my car to leave 🤣

We went back to see it together, got to work on the preapproval with Dave, and before we knew it, the thing I had helped so many other people do was suddenly happening to us.

And I’m not going to act like I wasn’t nervous. Even after years of doing this for a living, when it was my money, my future, and my name on those documents, I had a lot of the same thoughts and fears that my buyers have.

But eventually I had to lean into the same things I’ve been teaching people for years.

We negotiated an amazing off-market deal, the sellers stayed true to their word about wanting to help a young couple, and we were able to structure everything so that our down payment and closing costs were covered.

Our final cash to close?

-$47

Yeah.. We literally got $47 BACK at closing!!

And now we get to walk through the door of a house and say this is ours!

There are plenty of renovations ahead of us and somehow our project list keeps getting longer 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ but it feels amazing knowing we’re putting that work into our home.

I wanted to share all of this because I truly understand the other side of the table a little differently now. The nerves are real. Waiting until everything is “perfect” is real. Wondering whether you’re actually ready is real.

But sometimes you just need the right opportunity, the right people around you, and a plan.

Congratulations to Dominic on becoming a homeowner at just 24 years old! 🎉

Dominic was actually referred to me by a fellow Realtor who trusted me to help their nephew find his first home. We definitely didn’t find the one right away. We toured a couple of houses, learned a lot along the way, and had plenty of conversations about what made sense and what didn’t.

But the patience paid off, and now Dominic officially has a place to call his own!

The coolest part is that he’s already thinking ahead. This is just the first step toward his goal of owning multiple properties, building wealth through real estate, and eventually having rentals of his own.

Talk about a full-circle moment… a few ago, Hollie was my freshman year English teacher. Now, I had the opportunity to help her, Matt, and their family purchase their beautiful new forever home! 🥹🏠

This transaction definitely had its fair share of ups and downs while we were under contract. There were moments that required patience, problem-solving, communication, and a whole lot of teamwork but that’s exactly why having the right people in your corner matters. Some clients become so much more than a transaction.
