“Whale, hello there!” 🐋
(Plot twist… they’re actually dolphins.) Killer whales (better known as orcas) are actually the largest species of dolphin, not true whales. Spotting one in the wild is just as cool as it sounds. If you’re spending time around Anacortes, keep your eyes on the water, you might catch a glimpse. Sightings are best May - September, with peak chances in July and August. Whether you’re on a tour or simply enjoying the coastline, it’s one of those unforgettable moments you don’t want to miss.
