The Irvine Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center is staying open through December 31, 2027! ♻️

The City has extended its lease with OC Waste & Recycling, so residents can continue safely disposing of household hazardous waste at the current location while a new permanent site is identified.

📍 6411 Oak Canyon (adjacent to the City of Irvine Operational Support Facility)
🕘 Hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

Please remember to bring proof of Orange County residency when dropping off items.

☕️ The Coffee Grind: Used coffee grounds and paper filters go straight into your green-lid organics cart. Disposable cups get tossed in the black-lid trash cart since they are lined with plastic and can’t be recycled!

🍕 The Pizza Rule: Finished that slice? The greasy cardboard box and used napkins actually belong in your green-lid cart as food-soiled paper.

🧴 The Rinse Cycle: Your blue-lid cart loves plastic bottles and aluminum cans — just give them a quick rinse first to keep the rest of your recycling clean and dry.

🌴 The Tough Stuff: Palm fronds might look like yard waste, but they’re actually built for the black-lid trash cart.

Join us on Saturday, April 18, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Placentia Civic Center (401 E. Chapman Ave). This is a drive-thru event, so you can remain in your vehicle while staff assists with unloading.

Accepted items include:
• Documents for secure onsite shredding
• Electronics such as computers, monitors, and other items with a screen or plug

Please note:
• Limit of 6 banker-size boxes per household
• Papers must be removed from binders
• Fees apply for large appliances

♻️ Looking to safely dispose of old electronics? The Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce is hosting a FREE e-waste recycling event in front of City Hall (4845 Casa Loma Ave) on April 11-12, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

🗂️ Document shredding will also be available on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., for residents and Yorba Linda business owners. The first two file boxes are free, and each additional box is $5.
✅ Accepted items: TVs, monitors, printers, laptops, keyboards, scanners, stereos, and more!
🧺 Large appliances like microwaves, fridges & washers are accepted for a small fee.
