The past week, I've been working hard. I've built two subfloor for bathrooms, finished drywalling a room, sanding texture off walls, and getting ready to put this house back together. That is the part I really like. So get ready to see some finished spaces in the next couple weeks/months. First room to be complete will be the entryway/dining room.

Tim pulled down 4 rooms worth of dropped ceilings while I uncovered some more brick and cleaned and demolished other things. There's so much garbage! Tomorrow some of the plumbing starts.

The last picture is going to be the coolest before and after. I'm so excited about it. Plan to show the brick under that whole wall, and make shelves where that big whole is.

New back door and new location (that chimney is going away). And this is what picking up sticks to mow looks kinda when it's been a couple years. Pics only show half of what I picked up.

I found a general contractor. So far he's been exactly what I've needed. He can get anything done that I can't do myself! So thankful to continue to working with him!

Coming this week-new garage doors and a brand new roof! And plumbing starts this weekend!

Here's what's happening. These aren't full before and afters but here's what's making progress.
We found hardwood under the carpet upstairs! Love that! Normally I'd want to stain them but they've been painted several times and will be simpler to paint them as well. This was my friend's idea who does flips. This is a first for me but I know it will look nice. I'm working on removing all the carpet and the nails and staples underneath. It's literally has taken me a whole day just to remove the thousands of staples on the stairs. But it will be worth it.
We still don't have power, but we are close. Roofing is probably starting next week, so I removed this bush to get it out of the way. Gotta get help with the stump itself.
And the last picture is 9, yes 9 wasp nests. I sure hope they are not active cause I can barely function with a wasp around. I might burn the whole house down and run!
We are working on evicting raccoons and ground hogs from the premises as well. Luckily, the government can't save them from getting evicted during a pandemic. Lol

Things I've learned so far:
Some houses you don't get keys for. You get to break in.
If the utilities were off for more than 2 years, you have to get an electrical inspection before they can be turned on again..
If you need your dumpster on the street, that's a permit too.
Many people can walk into the same property and say opposite things. Can be "Wow, this needs a lot of work" , or "this isn't too bad" to "this is a nice house" . Honestly all of those things have gone thru my head too.
So far everyone I've talked to in Anderson for utilities, trash or permits, or contractors have been very kind and helpful for this newbie.
I'm excited to learn more.

Demo day mixed with decluttering day at Cobalt Coby's. . The kitchen is now an empty room waiting for new everything . Also pretty sure we need to evict a raccoon. Check out the prints on the chair, and he lefts some other signs (p**p!) around the place.
