Phew this news has caused quite an uproar today 😳 Deep breaths everyone, it’ll be ok! With the drought conditions, We are down over 8 feet currently, but they don’t intend to keep it that low. Not the news anyone wanted but it’s not our lake, we just get the privilege of living on it and being able to enjoy it!

Big News for Lake Hartwell! The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that the normal full pool level for Lake Hartwell is being lowered by 4 feet, from 660 feet to 656 feet, as a safety measure related to seepage concerns at the Clemson Lower Diversion Dam Saddle D**e.

The timing is especially significant with Hartwell already at very low levels due to the ongoing drought. There will be no immediate additional drop, but once the lake refills, 656 feet will be the new year-round target until a permanent solution is developed. The Corps says there is no immediate danger to the public.
