Dog of the Day: Meet Houdini

Hi, I’m Houdini! I’m a 3-year-old Chiweenie with a big heart and a little bit of a shy streak. After spending some tough time on the streets, I’m finally safe and learning what love feels like. I’m still skittish and take a little time to warm up, but I promise I’m worth the wait. I’d do best in a home with another calm doggy friend who can help me feel more comfortable and confident. Once I trust you, you’ll see my happy side — I enjoy walks, chewing on my favorite hard toys, and curling up nearby for cozy cuddles. Right now, I prefer to watch my foster family from the safety of my bed, but every now and then I’ll join in on the fun. I’m both potty and kennel trained, and I’m working hard every day to be the best boy I can be. Pocket’s ( ) journey to safety began when a crowded North Carolina shelter lovingly sent this three-month-old tabby to us, promising her a brighter future. That promise has been kept—she’s now learning what it means to feel safe and cared for, one gentle step at a time.

Though still timid, Pocket is curious and finding confidence with the help of feline friends. People are new to her, but she’s discovering how wonderful trust can feel.

She’s ready for an experienced home with older children who can help her settle in and show her that tiny truly is mighty.

Scarlett is an 11-week-old sweetheart with the cutest white socks. She is the perfect balance of silly, sweet and laid back. She loves to play, but she also treasures her chill time—especially if it involves curling up in a cozy lap and giving out plenty of kisses after playtime.

Her favorite game is getting her brother to chase her around the yard, and she’s always ready to get in on the fun. She is curious and learning something new every single day.

She loves to watch her brother and copy what he’s up to, so she’d be thrilled to have another dog buddy to pal around with in her new home. Whether she’s romping in the yard, snuggling on a lap, or following a furry friend’s lead, Scarlett’s gentle, affectionate spirit shines through.

Meet Willow. When she came in for her physical and surgery the vet noticed a problem with her heart
To find our more we sent her to a cardiologist. The news was not good.
She has some problems in her heart which makes the flow of blood not normal.
We are looking for a special person who would be willing to adopt her and give her some happiness in what is going to be a short life. The cardiologist says about 3 yrs. She will need medication.

Hallie is a stunning 10–12 month old Husky with those classic piercing blue eyes that huskies are known for. On the smaller side for her breed, she’s the perfect mix of beauty, sweetness, and playful energy.

Rainicorn is a sweet and confident 2.5 year old pit mix. She has done well in gentle playgroups at the shelter and gets along with my older lab! Rainicorn enjoys exercise, but also equally enjoys naps (lots of snorts and snores included) I don’t have a fenced in yard and feel like her exercise needs have been met with leash walks! While Rainicorn enjoys the company of my dog, I think she’d also be fine being the only dog! She sticks by my side when I’m home but has also been fine in the crate when I’ve left. All in all, she’s a great little dog! Adopt her today!!!

Willa is a 7 year old spayed female dachshund who weighs 23 pounds, but is working to lose weight. She came to us quite obese and has already lost 3 pounds, but still has a ways to go.
