Remember the post of Jake entertaining in my bedroom?
Well, it led to a discovery that is so special I have to share. ❤️
Last year, my client listed her Gloucester condo with me and moved to Texas to start a new chapter. One painting had hung over her foyer table, a beautiful coastal scene and perfect staging piece.
At the final walk-through, she reminded me she wanted me to have it for staging, so it came home with me.
Fast forward to decorating SeaRose…
A friend gifted me a butter-yellow microsuede chair. Another gave me a lamp with a seagrass-looking shade. The walls are White Truffle, and this painting practically said, “Put me in your reading corner.”
So I did. It complements everything beautifully.
Then my client saw the photo of Jake entertaining in that room and looked a little closer.
My phone rang.
“We need to talk.” 😅
She told me the painting wasn’t simply a pretty coastal scene. It was a wedding gift from June 14, 1964, painted for them by a Rockport artist who was a friend of theirs.
And yes, it’s signed. She said she had always hoped it would find a special home.
Well, it has. 🦋
I look at it every day, and now it means so much more than simply being the perfect colors for the room.
What touched me even more was hearing how closely she has followed my SeaRose journey: the renovations, the gardens, Jake, the guests. She has been watching it all unfold, a story she helped create the opportunity for me to step into. 🙏
Real estate has introduced me to so many wonderful people over the years. Sometimes those relationships continue long after the closing.
Every home has a story.
Sometimes, the artwork on the wall does too. 💝
