CCAR Members Let our Representative know this bill is bad for housing!!!

AB 736, a transfer tax bill currently moving through the California Legislature, could significantly increase the taxes homeowners pay when they sell their homes. This issue matters to every homeowner in California. PLEASE CALL YOUR LEGISLATORS TODAY AND TELL THEM TO VOTE NO ON AB 736.
AB 736 would allow local governments to increase transfer taxes on home sales far beyond what most Californians pay today. For example, a home sold for $900,000, the tax could increase from roughly $1,000 today to as much as $13,500 or even $27,000 in some cases.

For many homeowners, that money would come directly out of the equity they have worked years to build. Whether you’re planning to buy, sell, or remain in your home for years to come, policies like AB 736 that increase housing costs will affect all Californians.
