Every week I look at every home for sale in the Des Moines market and find the one buyers are paying the most attention to for a home its age. This week that home picked up 107 saves and 902 views on Zillow.

To put that in perspective: the average for the homes we checked was 20 saves. This one had 438% more than that. We looked at 1,701 homes for sale to find it.

Buyers have been paying close attention to one Ankeny home this week, and the numbers show it.

Of the homes we checked on Zillow, the average was 26 saves. This home got 118. That is 354% above that average. It is this week's Deal of the Week, meaning it drew the most saves for a home its age out of the 213 homes we looked at.

Every week I look at the homes for sale across Des Moines and pick the one buyers are paying the most attention to for a home its age. This week, one home stood out.

144 saves on Zillow. 1,135 views. The average saves for the homes we checked was 22. This home had 552% more saves than that average, across 1,783 homes for sale.

Saves and views measure attention. They don't tell us someone toured it or made an offer. But that kind of gap is a signal worth understanding, and I'm happy to walk through what it means with you.

Ankeny has more listings, and buyers are still showing up.

In the three months ending July 31, 2026, new listings rose 16.3% and pending sales rose 10.8%, according to the Real Estate Data Aggregator. So yes, buyers have more to choose from. But they are still making decisions.

The part I would not gloss over is that north and south Ankeny are telling different stories. South Ankeny had a median 24 days on market. North Ankeny was at 56. You are not alone if that feels a little confusing. It usually means the big headline matters less than what is happening near your specific address.

110 saves and 825 views on Zillow. Among the homes we checked, the average was 25 saves. To put that in perspective, this home had 342% more saves than that average. That kind of attention is worth knowing about, even if you are not sure what to do with it yet.
