What an adventure the past 10 years have been! Working in Commercial Real Estate is incredibly rewarding as I can see the impact I am making as an integral member of the teams that my clients trust me to be join. This has been individuals creating new local businesses to Fortune 500 Companies expanding their footprint in Iowa. I want to thank everyone that I had the opportunity to assist with their real estate needs. It was truly my pleasure! At this time I don’t know what adventures are on the horizon but I do know that it is time to step back from Denny Elwell Company and explore my options and adjust my sails to reach a new destination.

So happy to see Naughtea owner’s steadfast vision come to life and happy to have been a part of it. 
When I started working with her I was a bit skeptical on the limited menu, Boba and Corn Dogs (maybe a select few more to come😉). After their opening and having gone a few times I’m blown away at the combinations I’ve tried and flabbergasted with how many combinations I still would like to try. Only have a couple thousand more to order.
This new restaurant in Ankeny serves a Korean dish on a stick along with bubble tea replete with tapioca balls. Find out more about Naughtea.

It’s official. Costco has purchased the ground for a new store in Ankeny. We have 256 acre directly to the North that will be great options for additional future commercial development. Feel free me if you would like more details.
Costco, a members-only big box retailer, has purchased 20-plus acres in Ankeny and plans to begin construction of the new store in the coming weeks. Costco expects the store to be open by late October. People may assume working for a developer I don’t consider conservation and preservation as a role in our community, that would be big misconception. Growing up going to the Historic Corron Farm and the way our family was able to sell it gives me a unique viewpoint on how cities can preserve our past for others to share. I am a licensed real estate agent in the State of Iowa specializing in commercial real estate with Denny Elwell Company, a full service commercial real estate company with close to 4 million square feet in the metro area. He is one of eight sales and leasing agents in their Ankeny and Waukee offices tasked with filling the close to four million square feet in its portfolio. The agents also take on third party clients to assist in leasing, selling, and purchasing commercial properties all over Iowa. Some of Dan’s notable clients include Best Western International, Red Wing Shoes, Backspin Indoor Golf, Ohana Volleyball Club as well as secured land for Vecino Group to build a low income housing project using homeless set-aside credits. He also played an integral role in attracting The Juice Company, HobbyTown, and Zombie Burger to come to Ankeny. He can be easily be spotted in a crowded room with his signature hat and beard but is respected by his friend and colleagues with his can do attitude and passion to please.
Dan started his sales career at The Buckle, polished his technique as a waiter and bartender, and honed his skills at Toyota of Des Moines where he was an Internet Sales Manager and Scion Champion responsible for the dealership’s Scion brand strategy. Then one day Denny Elwell, one of his mentors, personally asked Dan to join his team.
When not at work he keeps busy with trying to be a good husband and father to his two and seven year old daughters, Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute Board Member, Committee Co-chair for the Downtown Chamber Development Insights Group (DIG), Iowa Commercial Real Estate Association (ICREA) Board Member, Wine & Food Showcase Committee Member for the Des Moines Metro Opera, and is highly involved in his church.
