Hey friends!!
I assume if you’re here, you already know me, but maybe along with any new friends, there’s something new to you!
My heart is in local connections. Nothing excites me more than meeting someone new and saying, “oh, you too?!” or finding a shared friend!! No matter what “hat” you find me wearing, I take pride in coming alongside you as a friend and advocate in life.
Over the years, I’ve realized that same love for connection is what draws me to home. Home isn’t just about walls and windows. It’s about belonging. As my new friend Portia Allen said in a recent teaching:
“Home is where I am: invited, comfortable, celebrated, and truth is told to me.”
We can find ourselves at home even many miles away from where we live. But the space we spend the most time should also be a solace for us to heal, gather, and love those that mean the most to us.
I didn’t realize it growing up, but weekends spent at fixer-uppers, wandering new neighborhoods, and helping my dad piece together our family home one 2x4 at a time taught me to love not just houses, but the process of creating a true sense of home with our own two hands.
That early love for building and our shared passion for people led my husband and me to start Elk River Contracting, LLC. I have the privilege of helping build the behind-the-scenes vision, systems, relationships, and culture, all rooted in the integrity and care Cole and the operations team executes each job with. As a licensed Realtor, I’ve extended that work into helping clients navigate big life changes — whether that means remodeling to stay, preparing to sell, or stepping into something brand new.
Before becoming a mom, I spent over five years in estate planning and administration, walking closely alongside families through the often messy legal hoops following the loss of a loved one. That experience shaped the way I serve clients today-with compassion, practicality, and intention.
Through all the phases of my career, I’ve continued to work in youth sports, coaching young 🏐athletes and now coaches to realize their potential, show deep care for their teammates, and find a more holistic view of wellness and life from the both physical and mental training athletics provides, when approached with care and balance in mind.
I live in rural Central Iowa, where I spend my spare time on our hobby farm with my toddler, a pack of lively cats and dogs, and a strong cup of coffee in hand — often with my laptop nearby as we learn the rhythms of balancing work and country life together. At the heart of everything I do is a deep love for people, stories, and the homes they’re written in. 🫶🏼
