Good advice on what trees not to plant near your house ( the article says not within 30 or 40 feet) and why. I'll add no bush or tree should be planted next to the house. Branches and foilage can damage the siding, windows, and trim and provide an avenue for insect invasion. Furthermore, without clear access between bushes and the house, maintenance of the siding and windows for painting, cleaning, and repair is hindered, as my painter husband often complains.

Experts reveal the trees you should never plant near your home as they can cause structural damage and disrupt power and utility lines.

Failing septic systems are an environmental and personal hazard. If you have a septic system, have it emptied every three to five years according to the EPA. Have it inspected annually if it has mechanicals. Doing so helps extend the life of the septic system, especially the septic field. Unfortunately, I've encountered many a failed system in my real estate business and have had to assist sellers to find and work with a competent contractor to repair the system before listing the property. Michigan is the only state that does not have a state wide sanitary code, but many local communities have their own ordinances that require inspection and, if necessary, repair of septic systems prior to sale. Fortunately, Michigan has a loan to help home owners pay for needed repairs with interest as low as 1%. Contact me or your Realtor for assistance in selling or buying your property.
