If I inherited a home, I wouldn’t start by asking, “Should I sell it?”

I’d start by understanding what I actually have.

What is the home worth today? What condition is it in? And what would it look like financially to keep it, rent it, renovate it, or sell it?

An inherited property can come with a lot of decisions—often at a time when you already have plenty to manage. You don’t need to have the answer right away.

Start with the information. Understand your options. Then decide what makes the most sense for you.
