Icy morning in Ann Arbor. We are of course out and putting down icemelt where needed and checking on storm damage. Fortunately, our houses seem to have fared pretty well. As far as I know, only two properties with power issues. And a few limbs down here and there. Just a reminder that if you are having a power issue as a result of the storm, please let us know, but also report that issue directly to DTE as well so that they can use that information to prioritize repairs. And as always, please remember to stay away from any downed lines that you might come across as you venture out. Never assume that a downed wire is safe. Coming into contact with live downed wires can be deadly. Please be safe out there.

It’s cold! With more cold weather coming. With the extreme cold sometimes comes frozen pipes. If temperatures are forecast in the teens or lower, make sure to run the water at all your bathroom and kitchen fixtures periodically through the day. If temps are in single digits or lower for more than 12 hours, consider running water at your sinks and showers at a trickle until temps warm up.
