I thought 20 degrees F was cold but here we are.

I'm showing LOADS of houses this month proving once again, that Michiganders are hearty stock! 🌳🏠🏡

And speaking of hearty stock, I made soup stock last night. I highly recommend you make your own. You'll never go store-bought again. 🧅🧄🥔🫚🍜🥬

I store all the odds and ends of veggies I've used in the freezer. When I've got enough, I toss with herbs, a bunch of garlic, star anise, peppercorns, and S+P. Roast in the oven until nice and brown. Cover with water in a stock pot and let simmer for 2 hours before straining and throwing into Mason jars.

Eat and be warm even when it's -12 outside!!

How do we feel about the Color of the Year? As a painter and a bold color enthusiast, I wait for Pantone to announce this every January.

I preferred 2025's Mocha Mousse 17-1230, and 2019's Living Coral 16-1546 to what is, at the end of the day, dirty white. 🫶

Volunteering was a very good decision for me this year. To say they do important work is an understatement. The mission of SafeHouse Center is to empower survivors of both sexual and intimate partner violence by providing advocacy, support, and promoting social change within our community.
