We’d like to thank everyone who contributed to a successful Homeownership Resource Fair this year!
Saturday, ACDS the Anne Arundel County Office of Equity and Human Rights celebrated Fair Housing Month. We were joined by 21 partners, including Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, real estate industry partners, legal and bilingual services, and appraisers and title companies, provided first-time homebuyers with resources, mini sessions, and a homeownership counseling workshop.
The mini sessions, “Mortgage 101: Beginners Guide for New Buyers” led by Shore United Bank and “Navigating the Market: Secrets to Buying Your Frist Home” led by Weichert Realtors Integrity Home Team, shared information to 62 combined attendees about obtaining a mortgage and house hunting in the current real estate market. The Homebuyer Workshop counseling class of 62 homebuyers was led by an ACDS Housing Counselor.
The event, which took place at the Severn Center, brought in almost 100 attendees who were able to speak with lenders, real estate agents, and other housing contacts to learn more about the home buying process. Thank you to the Anne Arundel Alarmers who served hot dogs from their food truck while kids enjoyed activities and coloring.
Big shoutout to the Gold Sponsors of the event – Shore United Bank and Realist Association of Greater Arundel - as well as Anne Arundel County Department of Aging & Disabilities and the The Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County who hosted us in their gym and Senior Activity Center space, and the Anne Arundel County Police Department who, in addition to providing a K9 demonstration, also assisted with traffic and parking.
