Far too often we have a false perception of success and what that looks like without knowing the “behind the scenes“ or obstacles of said PROCESS. I thought long and hard about if , when and how I’d share the news of my year long journey.
I decided last year that I wanted to advance myself in my career and while being 7 months pregnant (with terrible pregnancy brain that I think I’m still battling lol 🤣) I for some odd reason thought it would be a good idea to take a certification course to become a BROKER. Completed said course and my next step was to pass my two part state exam. I passed one part on the very first attempt so i had to go back and retake the second part. After FAILING my exam 4 times, I almost gave up on myself and my dream of becoming a broker. But I’m a firm believer that adversity builds character that can’t be taught. Overcoming obstacles is what makes you stronger. One thing my momma didn’t do was raise a quitter……. On the absolute LAST day I was eligible to take my exam, I passed it on the 5th attempt, August 5. Sometimes we give up on ourselves too soon when things don’t happen quickly enough. This message wasn’t to brag or boast about my accomplishments but it was to encourage you to keep going, keep pushing and have patience. Trust the process! Delayed doesn’t mean denied! 🙌🏽
I’m such a low-key, HUMBLE person but this time I respectfully earned my stripes to be called “Doctor Broker Lanika” 💁🏽♀️
