For years, the mortgage rate lock-in effect kept sellers on the sidelines. That's starting to change. 35% of sellers working with Coldwell Banker® affiliated agents have rates below 5% — and are listing anyway.

Life circumstances, not market timing, are driving the decision. The lock-in effect hasn't disappeared (61% of agents still call it a major or moderate factor), but early signs of movement are showing up.
