Last week, Cove Property Management had the pleasure of partnering with the MMHA Service Training Apprenticeship to host two incredible hands-on training days at our communities - Somerset at Towson and Townes at Village Center!

The STA students had the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom by working inside real vacant apartments and townhomes, gaining valuable experience as they prepare to enter the industry as the next generation of service technicians. There was even an on-site training on how to re-screen screens!

We’re proud to support The Maryland Multi-Housing Association (MMHA) and their commitment to workforce development. Huge thank you to Greg Swietkoski and a special shoutout to our very own Katie Horetsky for her continued support and coordination to make this experience possible for everyone involved!

Through our philanthropic initiative, Cove Cares, we’re proud to be participating in Move For Hunger’s “Move 2 Fight Hunger” campaign throughout the month of June! 💪🍽️

Hunger impacts over 44 million Americans – and we’re taking steps (literally!) to help fight food insecurity. Our teams are tracking their movement, hosting food drives, and spreading awareness to support Move For Hunger’s mission of turning moves into meals.

🏃‍♀️🚶‍♂️ Whether it’s a morning walk, lunchtime stretch, or weekend hike – every mile moves us closer to making a difference. Together, our footsteps are fueling hope.

🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness have secured the freedoms we cherish every day.

Our teams showed up in their Prom attire for the annual The Maryland Multi-Housing Association (MMHA) ✨Star✨ Awards! Cove Property Management proudly saw several of our communities and team members nominated, and we walked away with two prestigious awards.

New Carrollton Woods earned the Bronze Award for Workforce Housing Community of the Year, while Townes at Village Center secured the Silver for Townhome Community of the Year! Our teams were thrilled to take the stage and celebrate these well-deserved achievements!

Caitlin Shrum, our Manager of Operations & Marketing, received the first ever Workforce Innovator Award from the MMHA Leasing Training Academy-MMHALTA, along with the MMHA Miki Wilson Shining Star Award.

For the THIRD consecutive year in a row - our Regional Portfolio Manager, Heather Lundy, was a show stopper with her PROM QUEEN attire! Heather’s creativity shines through and she was able to add another WIN to her repertoire! She’s already eager for next years theme!

These accolades highlight the hard work and dedication our teams put into their communities every day! We're grateful for MMHA's commitment to fair judging and for recognizing the impact of our efforts.

🌟🧩 Proud Moment for the Cove Team!

This past Sunday, members of our Cove team (and members of their families) had the privilege of participating with the IREMIREM Maryland Chapterthey participated in the Autism Speaks Walk at TowsTowson Universitygether, we walked not just to raise awareness, but to show our support for individuals and families affected by autism.

Giving back to our community is at the heart of what we do, and events like these remind us of the impact we can make when we come together. Autism affects many lives, and by participating in this event, we aim to contribute to research and resources that foster understanding and acceptance.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and supported this important cause. Let’s continue to advocate for autism awareness and make a difference together!

Join us in celebrating Carrie Shoemaker, for her recent promotion to Regional Portfolio Manager!

Carrie has been a dedicated professional in property management since 2015, beginning her career as a Leasing Consultant. Demonstrating a strong aptitude and commitment to her field, Carrie was promoted to Assistant Property Manager in 2018 and then to Property Manager in 2020. She joined our Cove team in March 2021, bringing her expertise and enthusiasm to further enhance our property management operations with our acquisition of The Tuscany Apartments in Alexandria, VA.

Carrie received her ARM® designation in November 2021 and is currently a candidate for the CPM® designation, underscoring her ongoing commitment to professional growth and excellence in the field of property management. Outside of work, Carrie has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys working out, traveling, and exploring new restaurants. She loves hiking and spending quality time with her family and her beloved pets, two dogs and a cat, which keep her busy and fulfilled.

Carrie will oversee 4 of our communities within the NJ, VA, and SC regions.
