Here's a simple system I share with my Palmetto neighbors when the inspection report lands: start by scanning the whole document in one pass, then create three columns—safety and structural must-fixes, important but non-urgent items, and nice-to-have upgrades. Tackle the first column before anything else so the clock doesn't run out on the truly critical items.
This keeps the process from feeling like an avalanche and gives you clear priorities instead of emotional decisions.
I help Palmetto sellers and buyers move through these moments with the same structure and calm I learned in 21 years of military leadership.
What’s one inspection item that surprised you on a past transaction?
