⭐️🍎 Looking for Volunteers 🍎⭐️
Here at Star Orchard, supporting our community and giving to charity is important to us. As we look at the upcoming forecast (freezing temps Sunday night), we know that that will be the last day of apple picking for the season. But at the same time, we look around the orchard and see trees filled with wonderful apples. So we had an idea, and we're hoping you'll volunteer to help us.
Even though there are only a few days of picking left, we would love to make a large apple donation to St. Joseph Food Program. But our picking labor are done for the season and there's no way for us to pick the entire donation by ourselves. So we're looking for volunteers who would come to the orchard and spent a little time picking the apples that we would donate. You can come any day, and pick for as long as you'd like.....all the while knowing you're helping to get fresh, delicious apples into the hands of those in need.
Here's what volunteers need to do:
- Come to the orchard anytime between now and Sunday (when the freeze is expected)
- We will direct you where to go to pick and provide bags
- Pick apples for as long as you'd like....it doesn't matter if you pick 30 lbs. or 300 lbs
- When you're finished, bring the apples to the orchard store. We'll put them in pallets and will deliver them to the pantry.
Once we bring the donation to St. Joseph Food Pantry, we'll post about the final results!
