I got this email from one of our police chiefs, and with Cops@Culver’s Day coming up, I thought it was the perfect time to share it:
“Katie, I want to say thanks for everything you do for law enforcement and our communities. Yesterday I interviewed an 11yr old girl and her 6yr old sister in the office at child protective services where they were waiting to be placed in foster care. Their mom passed away the night before from a drug overdose while they were home alone with her. It broke my heart to learn that the 11yr old serves and cooks all the meals for her younger sister, that mom had not cooked in 2 months. After the interview I asked what their favorite restaurant was in town. She said they don’t really go to restaurants. I wish I could share the happiness on her face when I presented her with some Culvers gift cards. The conversation quickly turned to happier things like ice cream and how she makes milkshakes for her sister and what she is going to get at Culvers. With my cap in hand, thank you for being the beacon of light that you are – and to all that donate to make this program happen, to be able to help in moments like this.”

So when you see all of the squad cars and police officers at Culver’s across the state on Tuesday, please stop in. All money raised from this event, and other events hosted throughout the year, get turned into gift cards that our officers use to help neighbors in need.
Share this to all your groups, scanner pages, local city pages, friends, churches and businesses.
