🌞 Growing up a California girl and raising our family here has been amazing. The beauty and natural world is intoxicating. Why are housing prices so high? Because so many people feel the same way and want the joy of walking for miles on this strand of beach, or surfing in the morning and mountain biking later that day. I’ve taken it for granted growing up here and have to remind myself what it’s really all about sometimes amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life and work. For my birthday 🎈this year I am going to spend the day baking in the sand and jumping in the refreshing Pacific. Maybe I will catch a wave 🌊 body surfing 🏊‍♀️ . Maybe I will see something new! But for sure I will get salty and sandy and love every minute of it! 🏖️ 🧜‍♀️ ❤️

🌼 Happy Mother’s Day 🌼 to all you amazing moms out there! To me, no words adequately capture the great expanse of what we do, what we feel, and just how big our love is! Mothering energy is often described as a more gentle “being there” kind of nurturing force, but in my experience, it’s been much more about being intentional, discerning and actively protective and instructional yet encouraging…and then knowing when to let go…and then grab on again…and then let go again. All the first steps, the guided runs across the street, the rides on the bikes or in cars, the scrapes and cuts that hurt both mom and child equally, the disappointments, losses, pain and then the dreams, achievements and big wins that we also feel together. It’s just the most amazing experience and I am forever grateful to have the honor of being a mom and stepmom. P.S. I looked out the window and saw these two fawns and their mom while I was on the phone with N who is surf camping in WA…I love that both our sons have found ways to stay connected to the wild forces of the grand mom of us all, Mother Nature! 💐💗 🌟 P.P.S. Thank you Keith for the flowers and for always celebrating and supporting my motherly endeavors…especially when we tried and lost our own little peanut. 🙏🕊️👼
