It's a full circle moment today as I begin renovations on a house that holds a lot of personal history. The previous owners are very close friends of my parents - and my mom even had her baby shower there when she was pregnant with me. In 1997 she and I embraced in front of the fireplace I am taking out this week.

If she were still here, I would make her do a reenactment photo with me, despite her resistance to having a picture taken. Ironically, that particular photo is the one I have had on my desk since she passed away three years ago.

But onward to new and fresh spaces for a new family who will be making their own memories in a special house!

October is always the month for squeezing in the final weather-dependent bits! This outdoor shower is nearly finished and will be ready for next summer's swimming season. Hidden plumbing pipes and extra tall walls account for visibility from the deck and close neighbors with second-story windows.
