is the oldest family owned and operated real estate office serving DeSoto County and surrounding areas. In earlier years, Turner Realty was one of Florida’s leading independent real estate offices specializing in large acreage tracts and all aspects of agriculture. When life insurance agencies entered the industry in the early 1980’s, becoming direct competitors to the real estate market, TRC real

ized a shift in focus was necessary in order to remain competitive. This is when the business transitioned from its sole agricultural focus and began handling residential properties and smaller tracts of land. Today, Turner Realty continues to specialize in large agricultural tracts in addition to residential & commercial sales and property management. TRC is proficient in local zoning and building codes and Land Development Regulations. The office works regularly with County and State governments to address Development of Regional Impacts, contributing largely to DeSoto County’s economic expansion plan.

“Local Knowledge Beats Internet Guessing.”
The internet can show you listings.
It can’t tell you:
which roads flood
what areas are growing
where traffic backs up
or what buyers locally avoid

Real estate isn’t just numbers online.
Local knowledge still matters.

Memorial Day

Today we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice is the reason we have the freedoms we often take for granted.

We remember. We honor. We are grateful.

THIS IS ARCADIA.

Heading into Memorial Day, we remember that before Arcadia was known for antiques, rodeos, and Old Florida charm… it helped train wartime pilots.

In 1941, Carlstrom Field near Arcadia became part of World War II flight training, where young American and British pilots prepared for war.

What a remarkable piece of local history — and a reminder that even small towns played a role in something much bigger.

“In Small Towns, Reputation Matters in Real Estate.”
In a small town, people remember:
who calls back
who follows through
who knows the market

and who actually gets deals closed

Flashy marketing fades fast.
A solid reputation doesn’t.
In real estate, trust still matters.

THIS IS ARCADIA.
Florida has been doing Florida a long time.
On May 22, 1931, Arcadia became known for one of the strangest businesses in old Florida — canned rattlesnake meat.
Long before “Florida Man” headlines existed, George Kenneth End turned the abundance of rattlesnakes on his Arcadia property into a nationwide business.
What started as curiosity quickly grew into thousands of cans being shipped across the country, even ending up in restaurants in New York and Los Angeles.
And in true old Florida fashion, nothing went to waste.
Snake skin became belts and shoes.
Venom was sold to laboratories.
Even other snake byproducts were marketed.
By 1940, the operation was producing around 15,000 cans a year.
Only in Florida.
Only in Arcadia.

TURNER TIP TUESDAY
“Buyers Don’t Care What You Paid For It.”

The market doesn’t stay the same — and buyers know it.

They’re looking at:
• today’s prices
• today’s interest rates
• today’s competition
• and today’s condition of your property

What you paid years ago doesn’t determine today’s value.

Markets shift. Buyers change.
Overpricing usually leads to one thing: sitting.

Smart pricing gets attention.
Unrealistic pricing gets ignored.
