The best thing I did for my mental health happened in 2024.

I completely stepped away from my personal social media for a year (business posts were done through a scheduling app). The constant comparison and endless doomscrolling were fueling my anxiety, and I knew something had to change. This was more than just a social media break. I truly felt led to . . . delete my social media apps! 😱

Getting rid of the apps was liberating. Fast forward to today: I still don't have social media apps on my phone. I only check things from my laptop, which automatically keeps my time here intentional and limited.

Last year, as part of my doula training, I became certified in Mental Health First Aid. It taught me so much about how deeply our daily environments—including our digital ones—impact our wellbeing.

just dropped an amazing article on how to stop doomscrolling, and it perfectly sums up the digital boundaries that saved my sanity. Read below for 5 habits to try if your feed is leaving you feeling drained:

📱 Make apps a conscious choice. (For me, that meant moving them to desktop only!)
🧠 Pause for a vibe check. Ask yourself mid-scroll: Do I feel connected, or just anxious?
✂️ Ruthlessly curate. Unfollow the things that trigger comparison.
🚶‍♀️ Swap the scroll. Keep a tiny list of offline things you love doing when you have a free 5 minutes.
🌙 Ditch the bedtime scroll. Put the phone away 30-60 minutes before sleep to give your brain a true wind-down.

You don't have to overhaul your whole life today—just try choosing ONE of these habits to test out this week.
