Today is Independence Day. A very hard fort for victory started over 250 years ago. On this Indipendence Day there is a large faction of Americans willing to take away your freedom, your constitutionally guaranteed rights and your ability to make choices and give them over to a single political philosophy. Read 1984, Mein Kampf. You don’t think it can happen here? It already is. Definitely vote on Election Day, but make sure you fully understand the policies and mindset of who you vote for.

Sunday May 7th. I will be riding in the 40 mile NYC 5 borough bike tour. With Any luck I’ll finish it. I think this is the 5 th. time I will be riding. Don’t exactly remember the year I first did it, )maybe 15-20 years ago). But I very distinctly remember my younger daughter telling me “ Daddy I signed us up for the NYC 6 borough bike tour in May”. When she told me it was 40 miles I thought she was crazy. Long story short, I did it. I did it a few times after that ( I had to scratch 2x, once because of a deluge( they should have canceled, way to dangerous to ride, and once because of food poisoning the night before). I don’t one of the times with her. This Sunday however Father & Dsughter we re-unite will once again do the tour together.

While 40 miles isn’t as daunting as the first time, 40 miles is still a pretty good ride and I am also that much older. I went from being middle aged to being well into my senior years, so yes it’s going to be an interesting ride.
