Hey Rockridge residents! 🏡✨
Time to do some early fall cleaning! Arkansas City’s Community Clean Up Week is coming up October 5–9.
If you’ve got bulky items, old furniture, or broken appliances taking up space in your garage, basement, or backyard, this is your chance to get rid of them curbside.
Here’s what you need to know before you set your items out:
🗓 When: Place items next to your poly cart by 6:00 AM on your normal sanitation pickup day during the week of October 5–9.
⚠️ Important: City crews will collect non-household trash for active sanitation customers only. Only official City of Ark City poly carts will be emptied—any other personal cans or receptacles set out will be collected and disposed of.
✅ What’s Accepted:
Boxed, bundled, or tied items (under 50 lbs each)
Indoor & outdoor furniture (mattresses, couches, dressers, etc.)
Appliances (washers, dryers, microwaves, TVs — limit one Freon appliance per household)
Grills (ensure propane tanks are removed)
Kids' indoor and outdoor toys
❌ What’s NOT Accepted:
Yard waste (leaves, brush, branches)
Construction & remodeling debris
Tires of any kind
Electronics / computers
Concrete, dirt, rocks, bricks
Auto parts, vehicles, scrap sheet metal/iron
Paint or chemicals
Please note: Collection routes may take a bit longer than usual, and crews will not make second trips. Let's make sure everything is out on time and show our city sanitation workers some courtesy and appreciation!
