There is a very specific kind of pride that hits when you help someone you’ve watched grow up buy their first home.
At just 26, my son’s good friend decided it was time to buy a home. Naturally, you go into a situation like that wanting to be fiercely protective. But what actually happened blew me away.
We found a great house and immediately were thrown into a multiple-offer situation. For most first-time buyers, this is where panic sets in. The instinct is to let emotion take over, overpay, or just walk away entirely.
But we had discussed the market data, strategy, and options—and then he completely took the wheel. He knew his boundaries. He made the decisions. When the pressure was at its highest, he held fast, stayed grounded, and didn't let the frenzy rush him into anything reckless.
We won the house not just because we had a great strategy, but because he was a disciplined, decisive buyer.
My job is to provide the roadmap and the leverage, but the client is always in the driver's seat. Getting to hand him those keys today wasn't just a professional win; it was an absolute honor to watch the next generation step up and handle a high-stakes situation like a total pro.
Welcome home, Lucas. You earned every bit of this. 🙌💪
