True story: back when I was a young agent, I used to absorb every ounce of stress from my clients like it was my own. Christmas Eve, a buyer and seller were on the verge of suing each other, and me right in the middle of it trying to keep the peace.

13 years later, I’ve learned to hold space for my clients without carrying their stress home with me. Compartmentalizing is a skill nobody teaches you in real estate school, but it’ll save your sanity.

(Side note: they didn’t sue each other. Deal closed, everyone moved on. Just another day in real estate.)
